Silver Lakes West Homeowners
Association
January 14, 2004
The Silver Lakes Homeowners Association, Inc. Annual Membership meeting was held on January 14, 2004 at the Lake Mary Library. Proof of Notice of the meeting was given by written affidavit. A quorum of 68 members was present in person and by proxy. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN
A motion was made by Mr. Bonck to nominate Lynda McGee from Sentry Management as the chairman of the meeting. Seconded by Rod Meli, vote called, majority in favor. Ms. McGee took over as chairman. An introduction of the current Board Members was made.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Mr. Bonck to approve the minutes of the January 15, 2003 Annual Meeting as printed. Seconded by Mr. Meli, vote called, all were in favor, motion carried.
REPORTS
Eminent Domain
Kent Wilkins gave a status report of the eminent domain issue.
Lake Emma Widening
Bill Smith gave a status report on the widening of Lake Emma.
Treasurers Report
John Verity gave a financial report for the Association as of 12/31/03.
Architectural Review Board
Rabinder Gill gave a report of the majority of approvals for 2003. He also requested that the owners return the color books back to him after they have chosen a color.
Legal
Lionel Bonck gave a status report on the pending legal suit concerning covenant enforcement.
Common Areas
Kent Wilkins reported on the Christmas Lighting contest. The 1st place winner was 944 Stillwater; 2nd 8125 Silversmith and 3rd was 761 Silversmith. He reported that the wall along Lake Emma was in need of cleaning and painting however, since this wall is to be demolished and is part of the eminent domain the lawyer is handling this matter. The status on this is unknown at this time. A homeowner voiced a complaint concerning the lack of mowing on the conservation area. Mr. Wilkins will be investigating this matter.
General Activities
Maria Pascual reported that she has been delivering welcome baskets/gifts to the new owners. Information is also given concerning the Association Documents and Requirements.
She asked for volunteers to assist in having a garage sale and block party for the community.
INSPECTORS OF THE ELECTIONS
Della Smith and Allen Saltman were appointed inspectors and tabulators for the election.
ELECTION OF DIRECTORS
Three positions are up for election and need to be filled. The nominating committee had presented the following names: Jerry Harbin; Madeline Levine; John Verity and Kent Wilkins.
The floor was opened for nominations. Madeline Levine nominated Victor Rios. A motion was made by Della Smith to close the floor for nominations and seconded by Mrs. Bonck. Vote called, all were in favor, motion carried.
An introduction was made by all nominees to the members present.
All members were asked to write in the name of Victor Rios on their ballots. All members were asked to vote for no more than three individuals and to give their ballots to the inspectors of the elections.
ELECTION RESULTS
The voting tabulators gave the election results to the chairman. The following highest vote individuals will be the three new directors for Silver Lakes West and will serve a three year term:
Jerry Harbin; John Verity and Kent Wilkins

Their was no unfinished business
NEW BUSINESS
Member’s present discussed signage alternatives since vandalism of the letter has occurred in the past. Discussion also ensued concerning traffic speed in the neighborhood, contacting the sheriff department while you are on vacation, website information and email addresses for residents to exchange. A proposed budget was reviewed.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Mr. Wilkins to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Danny Moore. The meeting adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
