BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
OCTOBER 3, 2002
MINUTES
The Silver Lakes West Homeowners’ Association, Inc. Board of Directors held a
regular meeting on October 3, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. at 740 Silversmith Circle, Lake
Mary, Florida, 32746. Notice of the meeting was duly posted on the
association property 48 hours in advance. A quorum of the Board was
established and George Perina called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.
Directors present were: George Perina (President), Kent Wilkins
(Vice-President), John Verity (Treasurer), Joyce Groom, Bill Smith, Rod Meli,
Maria Pascual, and Madelaine Levine.
The meeting was held at Kent Wilkins’ home due to and emergency that Madelaine
Levine experienced.
George Pering motioned that the September 5, 2002 minutes be corrected stating
that Madelaine Levine did not attend; therefore, should not be listed.
Motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
No Treasurers’ report was presented.
John Verity moved to have a committee of three (3) for the budget contract
units. Rod Meli and Kent Wilkins, along with John Verity will constitute
the committee.
ARB
Bill Smith presented the ARB report and stated that he found the proper lights
and they would be installed on October 7, 2002 and will not disturb the
existing landscape.
Mr. Smith also stated that there are several dirty roofs throughout the
development.
George Perina was to call Seminole County regarding who is responsible for the
sidewalks.
BUDGET
The Board reviewed budget, but no decision was made for approval.
BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE REPORT
Complaints regarding landscaping.
COMMON AREA COMMITTEE REPORT
There have been four (4) coach lights completed and two streetlights.
GENERAL ACTIVITIES
Madelaine Levine and Maria Pascual discussed the "Block Party"
scheduled for November 9, 2002 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. This will be held on
Sloewood Court. They will send out flyers two (2) weeks prior to the
event. Five (5) out of eight (8) homeowners have approved the use of
Sloewood Court.
Madelaine Levine motioned that they would need $300.00 for the party from the
HOA. Motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
The Board is concerned regarding the truck that has been leaking oil down the
street and in the driveway. It was requested that Management send
additional letters.
NEW BUSINESS
George Perina stated that as an emergency item, Sentry Management’s contract be
discussed and manager would leave at that time.
John Verity motioned Bill Smith to be the representative of Silver Lakes West
HOA to the Crossings Master Association. Motion was seconded and passed
unanimously.
Kim Jones, representing Sentry Management, left the meeting per the Board’s
request when they discussed Sentry’s contract.
